Round Rock Continues to Offer a High Quality, Low Cost of Living

On Friday, January 20, the Council for Community and Economic Research released its annual ACCRA Cost of Living Index for 2011. Round Rock’s composite index, 88.6, continued to be extremely competitive with large metro areas across the country, indicative of the high quality of life available in Round Rock. New York (Manhattan), NY had the highest composite index at 218.8 while the lowest was Harlingen, TX at 81.0
The ACCRA Cost of Living Index measures regional differences in the cost of consumer goods and services, excluding taxes and non-consumer expenditures, for professional and managerial households in the top income quintile. 314 urban areas participated in the 2011 ACCRA Cost of Living Index. Round Rock and several other cities are highlighted here.
