Partnership
Round Rock has become known as a premier locale for business success. Economic development here is a true partnership between the City and business leaders through the Momentum program. The economic development staff at the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to helping businesses enjoy success. The Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC), which advises the staff, is composed as follows:
1. Four representatives of the City: Mayor Alan McGraw, Mayor Pro Tem Carlos Salinas, City Manager Steve Norwood, Director of Planning and Community Development Peter Wysocki.
2. Four representatives of the Chamber of Commerce: Chair Writ Baese, Immediate Past Chair Jim Shelgren, Momentum Chair Jim Boles, President & CEO Doug Kurkul.
3. Three business representatives, appointed by the 8 City and Chamber representatives to three-year terms: Nyle Maxwell – term through 2014; Kyle Covington – term though 2012 ; Jon E. Sloan – term through 2013.
4. Small business representative: Frank Leffingwell.
5. Two ex-officio members: A County representative (Commissioner Ron Morrison); and a RRISD representative (Superintendent Dr. Jesus Chavez).
6. Momentum Pace-Setter Investors: Austin Community College, Avery Centre, Chasco Constructors, Dell Inc., Heritage Title, Nyle Maxwell Family of Dealerships, St. Davids Round Rock Medical Center, Seton Williamson, Scott & White Healthcare, Texas State University, Wells Fargo.
