Round Rock Police Department

Round Rock enjoys one of the lowest crime rates in Texas for a city of its size. In 2004 84.3 percent of city residents said that they felt safe walking alone in their neighborhood at night. In the 2005 survey by publisher, Morgan Quitno Press, Round Rock was named the 8th safest city in the United States.

The Round Rock Police Department, which employs 120 certified officers and 50 civilian officers, is an accredited law enforcement agency. To meet the needs of a growing community, a canine unit was added to the patrol division in 1999.

A key goal of the department is to maintain a safe environment for all citizens and aggressively address criminal activity throughout the City. The Round Rock Police Department is dedicated to the delivery of policing that responds to the needs of the community and engages its citizenry to share in the responsibility of keeping Round Rock a safe city in which to live.
